Simon Alcock

 

Simon Alcock is an award-winning writer for TV and radio who is rapidly making a name for himself as an imaginative and versatile talent.

 

His television writing credits include Tracey Breaks The News (BBC 1), Have I Got News For You (BBC 1) and Funny Festival Live (BBC 2). For radio, he is part of the core writing team for numerous Radio 4 series, including the comedy.co.uk Best Radio Sketch Show Award-winning Dead Ringers, and The News Quiz. He has also written on shows for Jo Brand, Jayde Adams, Sandi Toksvig, Al Murray, Rich Hall, Alex Edelman, and Danny Dyer.

 

In 2020, Simon was awarded the prestigious BBC Comedy Writers’ Bursary and became the in-house comedy writer for BBC Studios.

 

His short film Man Spider was an official selection for Glasgow Short Film Festival and Flickerfest (Sydney), and was made a Vimeo staff pick.

 

He is currently developing his own original comedy narrative projects for TV.
