Alex Bruce
Alex is an emerging narrative comedy and comedy-drama writer with particular strengths in dialogue, silliness and warmth.
His BBC Comedy Short Film QUIET LIFE was broadcast on BBC Three and released on iPlayer in 2024. It has since achieved official selection at 10 film festivals, including the prestigious BAFTA/BIFA qualifying BFI London Film Festival, and Aesthetica.
Alex was also recently commissioned by Wellcome Collection to contribute a psychology/humour article “How I Cured My Fear Of Vomiting” to Wellcome ‘Stories’.
His script RETROACTIVE reached the top 1% (top 50 of 4600) of submissions to BBC Writersroom in 2023.
Alex is currently developing a slate of TV comedy and comedy-drama ideas with esteemed, award-winning producers.
Ideally, he would end his biography with a joke - but he struggles to think of one.
